You asked me for som pics of my exhaust... I did a "turn around" on their way to the tailpipes to be able to insert slip-in silencers. The outside tailpipes was already on when I bought the boat. I also replaced the standard guages to a set Autometer (sometimes we do unessersary things, but we live only once;-) http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/...ps72979e71.jpg http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/...psfdaab943.jpg http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/...psde7015db.jpg |
I have a 86 velocity, 383 small block, 22 pitch 450hp. When aired out flat out I'm getting 78 mph on gps. I would post a pic but can't figure out how lol.

JensColbinSwede: Cole-One is my father, any posts by him are of the same pachanga. We have been thinking about power upgrades for the winter... 50/50

Okey, now I understand.. I was a bit lost there.. :-)
How much power are you aiming for? I imagin you want to do more than your 89mph ;-) My plans for next summer, a 1 or 2 inch shorter lower unit and a better prop, and also flattern the "humps" out on the second step on the body. I made 82,4mph last test this year.. now it's to cold for boating here.. |
I'm not so sure you would benefit from taking out the gunnel knots because at speed it is basically out of the water. here is a pic. You can watch my youtube videos as well and see that the boat is out the water above them. I will try to get a gopro video of the transom the next chance I get. I tried a 2" shorty but couldn't get on plane, I did not install the cavitation plate when I put the shorty on so that may have had different outcome if the plate was on.
