The problem is the yukon and tahoe with a 6.0 liter tows 8500 lbs. This is what I don't understand. And the Hummer has a longer wheel base than the yukon and tahoe.

That is what I'm worried about. Live in Northern Kentucky and hit the lakes a couple times a year. Never had a problem with my old boat, but it was about 250 lbs light with full load.
