VC-17 will give you the flattest possible bottom paint but it is not recomended for salt water. I've put it on a lot of our charter boats here when gas started to climb it increased there performance...

Check out Greenwood plywood its treated then kiln dryed in a way resin will adhere many boat companies are using it. Ive gotten it 10' long and 1/2, 5/8 or 3/4 laminate and scarf makes great...

I own a 1978 27' project deck and hull only. I hope to fix her up one day. Thinking of making it a twin outboard to gain some cockpit room. Will make a great boat for Lake Ontario.
