Bravo1 /hose is disconnected?

Hi to all, figure I would ask the pro's,,,have bravo1 drive & noticed a1/4" rubber hose not connected to any thing on drive,looks like it comes out of /thru transom housing ,this hose is not leaking...

Maybe answered self , I guess it is gonna be suction from drive ,not pressure so if I open flush cap while running motor this would create air gap to pump ? I'm thinking with cap open air would suck...

Just a little concerned ,have 2001 496ho. Runs great,but this season motor will not start on initial crank of starter,but stop cranking & fires up on second cranking of starter,then runs fine...

Finally !!!!!

Found resivoir ,feel like idiot, solved it,low oil, new to "v8" world & drive,used to outboards! Thanks every body that helped! Probably saved $300+, love this site!!!!!!
