I have owned several broncos and currently have a 93. The E4OD trans and 8.8 rear end might not like the abuse. I would try and pick up a cheap 3/4 ton to use as tow rig.

Lost my last motor to silicone on the pickup tube. Po put way too much silicone on the pan and it came off inside. Guess I'll just braze it.

I honestly don't know what drive it is. The upper is a mercruiser but the lower was replaced with a rebuilt one by previous owner. I'll take a picture and post it. Maybe someone will be able to tell.

Well the unit is still leaking. It's a very small leak. No drips just wet at the pickup. How do they do a pressure test? Can I just take the lower off myself and take it to them. Thanks.

The shop said they didn't take the lower off the boat. It was only a 1"x2"piece broke off. It must just be a seal failure. I wiped it off this morning and it has not leaked back out yet. I'll check...

It came with a imco upper. Po said he thought something was wrong with lower unit so he took it apart but it ended being forward gear in upper.

I was 16 when my grandpa gave me my first boat. It was 1972 16' Del Magic tri hull with a 1969 80hp mercury motor. I loved that boat! Going on 23 years now and have owned too many to count.

I experienced the same problem and went from a 14...

I experienced the same problem and went from a 14 diameter to 15.25 and it fixed it for me. I had to go down in pitch to make up for the diameter.

I would try and stay between a 14.25 and 15.25 in diameter. Just figure gaining 200 rpm for every pitch size you go down from your current prop size. I would just try and get your max rpms at wot....
