I'm only assuming the ring is worn, boat is a 1992. I was hoping I could tighten the bolt that pinches around the steering pin because someone previously tried the "merc" fix by drilling the 1" holes...

if it was reversion wouldn't it have been doing...

if it was reversion wouldn't it have been doing it since the previous owner built this engine? this engine and exhaust combo has been run for at least 2 seasons without issue.
