My guess is a drain for the cooling system for winterization. That would drain your separator and all coolers and hoses.

Tom, I am running the "Sheilds" hump exhaust coupler, it is made for exhaust. Mine have been on for 5 years and no problem.

Back flush from thermostat water inlet hose, remove the output hose from the raw water pump to clean any broken veins from the impellers stuck in the coolers or you will have future problems.
