1980 260 merc exhaust elbow gasket question

1980 Hammond... like the original Challenger... anyway, has always had a hot spot on the starboard side... looks to be original exhaust log. One on port side seems slightly different. JUST unpickled...

No worries, I didn't clarify the tape was on the...

No worries, I didn't clarify the tape was on the female fittings screwed into the pump. The flare connection into those females have NO teflon tape. I appreciate your feedback.

Well, keep i mind it actually worked fine before I got my fingers on it! BUT, I did use a Sierra pump rather than the OEM, and the end of the arm is ever so slightly narrower.... guess I could try...

Well, cuddy area is now dry... think re-sealing the rub rail in the bow section did the trick. But no holes anywhere for drainage... but then again, mine is a 1980 and his first version of that...
