okay gotcha, it's a 23ft with a mildly built 454 at about 400hp. I was thinking doing a single ram add-on. Then going to dual ram full hydro in the future

Bravo 1 loose steering

So I have a 98' bravo 1 on a commander boat. If I grab the drive I can swing it side to side about three inches. There is basically no play if I move it up and down. It has the jr marine cover on it...

okay so I looked really well behind the valve covers and they are clean down to the block. The whole top half back of the motor is clean and dry not even so much as dust on it

Just bought a 98 commander with a new engine from the second owner I bought it from the third owner. Guy said it was a 454 but I'm not sure I cant find a serial number and cant seem to find a casting...
