The previous owner of the drive didn't take care of it very well! it keeps eating up seals and water enters the drive! The shaft is just to pitted to make a seal!

Just curious. What cabs are you running, Jets. Power valves, are they boost referenced?

Don't forget you will have to Re-jet and most likely prop change!

Yes, you RPM's will rise! Its hard to say how much depending on several factors! Boat weight, FUEL, Prop,type of boat, ect! It wont be allot! On one of my Twin Turbo motors "Remember boost is boost"...

I agree with Sutphen30, should be rock steady! thats not good at all for your motor! In this case I would have Just Replaced the whole Dist. with a pre set Advance unit from Performance Distributors!...

Thanks Ed, I decided to go full hydraulic steering! IMCO $920.00 I also replace my 10 Year old but still working GT Cordless Trim Steering wheel! FYI Gary Teague was a Very big Help at GT Marine!

Thanks for the replies! I think I am going to take the full Hydraulic system! I hate that stupid cable! I just was not aware of the Hydraulic steering! Thanks again :D
