A 454 Mag 385 hp has all the steel internals of a 502 mag.
The diameter of the 454 is 1.250
The diameter of the 502 is 1.470
The difference is 0.220 (220 thousandths)

I own a Cary 33SS hull. I,ve been told this hull was the "first" Cigarette boat.

Sorry about the confusion guys. I only had the EFI stuff in the garage (intake, computer, wires, VST, fuel rail, etc).

Had 19 feet of water where I live. Garage flooded to the ceiling.

In that garage, I had two 502 MPI's with the VST, intakes, rails, computers, wires, etc. (not connected to a battery)

Somewhere on Mercruisers website, maybe the tech stuff, they give their formula for repainting an outdrive. I would think this is good enough for the engine.

Alumabrite. This is a basic (not acidic) solution that will dissolve rust stains before your eyes.
Caution: Do not put on aluminum or stainless. This stuff was made to "etch" metals before priming....

Cool Fuel vs. VST

Building stock MPI 502's to replace 454's.
When selecting the MPI to use, which one does everybody prefer- the VST versions or the Cool Fuel versions? Why?
