Boater's World and West Marine both carry a new line of marine bilge heaters that are small and easy to mount, XtremeHeaters. I have a buddy with one and he has been happy with it, YMMV.

Lightbulbs in a bilge compartment........recipe for failure and disaster, look at some of the pics on BoatsUS.com of others that used these. Lightbulbs can crack and it doesn't take a lot to ignite...

I was at a poker run at the local lake this weekend and saw a new product that seems better than what I have seen available in the past, www.xtremeheaters.com . It was small enough to mount in a SKI...
