I will be doing the raw water pump impeller in the spring and will back flush the cooling loop at that time. I don't think there is an obstruction, though, because that engine runs nice and cool...

Yes, Perko does make strainers with the valve incorporated into the top. Mike does not have the valve and Perko says you can't interchange the tops.

Fixed it!!!

Tried again to get to the oil cooler. It's not going to happen unless I pull the exhaust manifold.

The engine got hot but did not overheat badly. I have big stainless pipes coming off the exhaust manifolds that go back to the thru hulls. No risers like I'm used to seeing.

3000 rpm = 35 mph
3500 rpm = 42
4500 rpm = 55 WOT

The hole shot is still excellent and I can trim it waaaaay out now.
