I am sure they would do it but the process is very simple, if you can get the pump out of the boat by yourself you can certainly install this kit.

I have a 2003 496 mag and I want to clean the flame arrestor but I am not sure of what to do here can anyone help? My manual says to use "solvent" then dry with compressed air and reinstall, no oil?...

I think I have found Mercs OEM builder for this product and you can buy it for a fraction of the cost $16.00. Does anyone know if this is the same part? What other in line filters can be used?

If so it is possible the tech did not hold the filter side with a wrench while tightening and stressed the weld.
