heat exchanger closed cooling setup

Removed this from my 454 Mercruiser when I tidied up the engine bay and saw no need for it as runnig fresh water.

The end caps were removed for inspection an all is clean and in excellent shape.

Tried the Easy off, no luck. Tried the mild reccomended stripper with better than prvoius.

Last tried the suggested Deck Stripper and it worked the best. I will still be taking it in...

454 Mag Carb motor with closed coooling system installed new about 7 years ago.. Only uprage done at the install is Stainless Marine Manifolds with S/S Risers.

Bought it from the original owner...

I now understand why there is a past bowl of hoses under there. Going to study it a bit and consider cleaning up the hose routing....

This came with a 19P Revolution 4 on it. Have not had a chance to get out and do any testing and never ran a 4 blade.

New motor was installed about 6 years ago and the owner added the closed cooling as he was going to run some in salt water. The plumbing looks like chit. So I figured it was easier to plumb it back...
