I finally got some proof that 28-1 was Mercury's poster child for the newly introduced 2.5 260 hp back in 1992. Here is the brochure.

No i dont see any problems so far with the existing dash wiring. I will be pulling anything that has been abandoned over the years. Looks like a lot of stuff under there that is no longer needed.
