The truck engine may or may not have a forged crank and 7/16 bolt rods like your 454Mag, but at HP levels below 450, it does not matter much.

The easiest way I know to tell is if there are provisions for a mechanical fuel pump. Gen IV blocks can run a Mechanical fuel pump. On Gen V blocks the boss is not there or at least not machined....

A truck engine is a lot more like the low output 330HP than a 454Mag.
You will need to change the flat top pistons to get the compression up and change the cam to have more lift and duration.
