Is there info saying the AFM is the cause of the oil consumption? I could except (as the cause at least) that GM just lost control of quality and/or something happened to prevent rings from seating....

Thanks guys. It's feeling like my gut is being supported by everyone's experience. Even though the '08 burb still has the 4spd auto, I'll be happier with the selectable 4wd instead of the AWD.

The Sub is 4wd, Denali is AWD, both 2008s. I know the Denali has the 6.2L/6spd auto vs the 'burb's 5.3L/4spd but I'm more trying to decide on the 4wd vs AWD. Is the AWD still a viscous transfer...
