They are in the business of building what OEM's...

They are in the business of building what OEM's can sell, not what DIY'ers want.

I don't disagree that the LS engines are cool for some applications, just don't expect to see anyone trying to...

Come On. They only came up with 1350 HP that they can offer a warranty on and claim unmatched service intervals.

There are some great builders out there building 1300HP engines with big whipples...

I would say that the LS engines are just not worth switching to for Merc since what they have has worked. If they were not working on something else, I think you would have already seen a Merc/GM LS...
