Hooking up a sub...ohms question..

So bought a kicker sub that is a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub. I have a 4 ohm impedence jl250/1 amp. So since it's a 4 ohm dual voice coil if I hook up both voice coils in parallel it makes it a 2 ohm...
