But wouldn't you think that if I could get my RPMs to 5,400 without insane trim and 20% slip that I would go faster? Maybe there would be more forward thrust as long as I can keep the bow high.

The Edelbrock heads still have the proprietary bolt pattern. I had to relocate my exhaust tips because I switched to the headers that came with the 525.

I had to relocate the exhaust holes on my transom and the analog gauges will not work without new wiring harness. Those were the main problems I had when swapping out my 496 for a 525.
