If i did want to go with some nice power, could I swap out the Merc 2 for a Borg Warner?

This one was never a Race boat but looks to be in Nice shape with a Brand New Interior that was stiched up...

I'm thinking about picking up a 1976 24' Cobra with a 454, Merc 2 and TRS Drive.

I think i know what you mean by the small knock ... It would make a small knocking noise at low RPM's right before it would stall out before the carb was adjusted. Soon as i got the Motor running...

Yes ... It only knocks while its in gear but it doesnt seem to go away with any extra throttle. It just knocks faster.

If its not in gear, it doesnt make the noise so, i know its not a Rod. But thats what it sounds like. It makes the knock in forward and reverse. If it was in the bellhousing it would most likely...

Its Eric's Boat Im thinking about buying. He didnt finish it and therefor I would have to. Thats why Im trying make sure i have all my bases coverd before pursuing it.

Wow ... Turbine Marine has done some very nice stuff. Looks like the ticket there. I'll give them a call and see if they can point me in the right direction. Thanks Guys for the info.

Is there any reason that a boat with Arneson surface drives would be undesireable? Is there any advantage to the Bravo 1 over the Arneson? Any opinions here?
