Over the years I have lost many friends in this sport. The list reads like a who's who of boat racing. Doug, Billy Don Pruett, Bill Sirois, "Smitty" Smith, Hurley Stepp, Sky Gillespie, Marty O'Neill Sr., Marty O'Neill Jr., Ken Kalibat, Pete Kalibat, Dickie Fantozzi, Bill Downard, Poppa Seebold, Dave Albert, Al Copeland, Spencer Dunn, Oley Berkis, Dave Packer, Jim Merten, Gary Garbrecht, and of course Marc Lavin along with so many others.

Seems like there ought to be a Boat Racing Hall of Fame to recognize these guys and the others who earned the ultimate title...... "Boat Racer".

I miss all of them........

Funny.....T2x and I were talking about Doug the other day on the phone.

I'm glad that I was able to get to know Doug better through Skaterfest. He was a very interesting man....god speed Doug. You are missed.....

Doug Lewis was ONE OF A KIND and if you had the opportunity to be called his friend, you were truly blessed.
