Should be a cool boat! My friend was thinking about buying it last year but he found a 28' Powerplay with t-SBC's. at the auction.

This boat is super clean.
It was just built last season so it is still less than a year old. |

How the heck is the V-10 gonna fit? Gonna be some serious cuttin':greenchainsaw:
I suspect some cutting will be involved. Otherwise you will be pulling the engine every time you need to change a belt ! |

I guess Gino felt he can get the job done with just 625... :drink:
|
I am impressed, I would have NEVER thought you would get that motor in there:eek: Is the weight about the same?? small block iron to V10 Aluminum???
|
Nice!
|
Way cool. That is going to be an awesome project!!
|
Is it getting the Indy drive as well?
|

There engine is over 200lbs lighter then the 525 and with the ILMOR/INDY package its is the same weight as the Merc 525/XR package. |

We choise the 625 because we only needed that HP for the class....we will be going with the 725's and INDY drive package on our next project that is in the works....we just needed to run a boat wih the Coast Guard this year till the new project is done....

I think ILMOR has a great engine that will fit right in from Class 5 threw Class 1 and also spec racing with the classes opening the door to them..... I think with more then one engine builder like Merc for the 550 to 750 hp ranges will be better for our sport....we have some engine builders also in the OPA Series like Crocket, Corbra ect. and I think Ilmor will fit in great in the racing in the U.S. and the performance boating community which as we all have seen has been taking off over the years... |

What speed are you expecting?? The 30 is equally as fast as the 29 kryptonite, which is really a 27'. Should put you around 90?? Awesome boat!:drink:
along with the Kryptonite, Volocity, Y2K Superboat, Warlock ect. Today the same F1 boats are runnging in Class 5 which is a cap at 75 mph the smallest engine in the class is a Merc 525 which is around 560 HP....most teams in Class 5 are running between 600 and 650+ hp and are propping down for acceleration, we will be removing the Imco shortie and putting on a standard Sportmaster on for races...we will be doing some things with the Coast Guard outside of Offshore Racing that we will be putting on the Imco ....we will be trying to get the boat to go over 100 for the C.G. events.... |
Saw it today in person.
Anthony is the right man for the job for the install! |
These guys must have thought they were going to sneak out on the maiden voyage undetected .....

NICE shots Tim! Will keep updating come next week....just need to do a little balancing...with the engine 200lbs lighter then the 525..its throwing it off a little when shes flying but she is a ball to run....the acceration is great... Thank you ILMOR... Ian and Nick...all week they have been giving me info...great support.... |
Install looks nice. Ilmor is awesome to deal with. Answered any and all phone calls no matter what day or time.:Score-101010:
Still dialing in the Batboat. And yes, the acceleration is great! |
I seen were he put a 1 inch spacer in and he got a new prop on the bat boat...new set ups just need to be played with here and there to get them right....
We might have to have a Imor race..with the bat boat, the Lavey craft and us.... |
spacers are out, now its prop search time. :party-smiley-004:
|
Were heading to New Port Richey tonight to do some testing tomorrow with the big props to see how close we can get the Activator/ILMOR to 100mph....before heading to Sunny Isle for racing on Sunday...We have 4 differant props....plus Steve M will be letting us use some Herrings also...we know she will do 92+ with the props we have and the shortie on but we still have a 1inch spacer on.but will run it like that to see what she will do.......just need to see what we need to do to get the other 7+mph....will post some pics and numbers Thurs night...
