Which model Rebel? I see there are several. Also will my lenses from my old Rebel EOS 2000 work with the newer models?

Most likely, but I suggest you ask your salesman.

My 2006 Rebel is an XT and still produces good shots. My salesman can't believe the amount of images I have shot with this camera even in the 1st year. I am not sure the exact amount of shots to be expected in its lifetime, but we both know I far exceeded the expectations....

My 2nd Rebel is an XTi.

The latest is a T2i I believe...

In that price range, Jay recommended a Nikon D200 to me.. i have been doing some searching and the price is in your range, unfortunatly I was shopping in the 3-450 range.

Is that 18-200mm an extra lens?

Are these two good for taking pictures of boats and other cool things or memories. Not looking for the memory part. Cameras for me not the wife
