Default Broken Plexiglass cabin entry

Any takes on who can manufacture a replacement. Just got off the phone with Formula and they do not have the patterns for this anymore. This is the entry piece that you fold back and lift up to open the cabin door. Thick black plexiglass. This just bites.

An acrylic shop can make it for you. How bad is it broken? Maybe fix it with Weld-on until you get the replacement.

You can do it. You need a sheet of 1/4" acrylic (Peidmont Plastics). Measure and cut to size. Take 2 2X4's and clamp the piece you need to bend between them. Run a heat gun back and forth along the bend area until it bends to 90 degrees. Then drill for all the hardware.

Smoked 1'4 inch Lexan will work as well. You can also bend it in a sheetmetal brake and it won't crack on ya!

What model Formula? Does if have a curved top, or just square? I busted mine in my 242 by not having it latched when I jumped a cruiser wake. It was flat. I went to a plastics place, and had them cut a pieced to size, then I drilled the holes and installed it. You can run a bottle torch along the edges, to round them off (bullnose we call it in the tile trade ). They would have made the whole thing, but I wanted to save money. My 302 has a curved door, and the top at the curve is busted off. It had been siliconed on, but came off.

THere is an acrylics shop here in Melbourne that will replicate that for you--Austin Acryilcs--Steve Austin.

They do a lot of prototype work and trade show stuff for Grumman, Lockheed, Harris.

Steve is a boater and likes the change of pace for this sort of thing. He has all the stuff in stock, hear forming machines, laminatingg, bonding, 6 axis CNC routers.

He made starboard swim paltform and some other starboard and acrylic stuff for me.
