I can see it now, The school bell rings, the little kiddies are running out in hordes to their lonely mommies and trav is perched in his bedroom window, peeking through the blinds with his pink shirt loosely draped over him while making a mess on his blue pants, whispering "Oh you know you want it, momma." LOL!

I love the opening to Miami Vice!
If you watch closely you can see Don Johnson knows the wave is coming they launch off of, but "tubbs" is a little taken back when they launch!!
That's some good stuff....And the final portion of the opening where they show all the boats racing away from miami from a helicopter is some 80's offshore race.
Ragtop409,
Is that pic the Chris Craft or the Scarab??
Chummy,
remember the episode where they were chasing the bad guys out off of Miami near the stilt houses and they were hiding in one of the actual houses. I think the bad guys had a Scarab too that ran through one of the boat garages....It's been a while though.

The best one is where they do the "offshore" race around Miami that is organized out of some guy's house(not Reggie
). I think the bad guy had a Magnum 50. It was great seeing Crockett, Tubbs and somebody else wearing their parachute nylon jumpsuits and no helmets during the "race".

I was in high school when Miami Vice was in it's heyday and it was one my favorite shows...right up there with the A-team and Riptide....My parents had a Wellcraft dealership at the time and we would play the Miami Vice soundtrack tape (NO CD yet) all day long in the showroom. The best part was going to the dealer meeting once a year at the factory in Sarasota. They had tons of boats at the docks for the dealers to take for demo rides....They had a 38' KV just like the Miami Vice boat and a ride on that was awesome

Nay, Phantom...
The car was not a Ferrari. It was a Daytona fiberglass kit car on a Vette base. The pic you posted shows it as good as any I've seen. Look closely at:
1) The seats and the way they are sectioned to fold forward (the Italian Stallion's seats I don't think they fold forward at all).
2) Center console (the side-handle '74 - '77 e-brake)
3) Windshield and windshield header (all Vette).
It was still cool, though. I had a '76 Vette and wanted to do the conversion to it - lack of funds stopped me (not lack of good taste).
