Default How much $$ to reskin your seats and new carpet?

Hi All,
I'm ;ooling to restore an older boat.
How much is a ball park figure to re upolster a set of bolsters, rear seat and sun pad in a fairly basic style of vinyl?

What does a new carpet cost to buy and install in a 24' boat?

Thanks for your help.
Evan

i did the carpet in my 21'. Carpet alone cost me 175 bucks. Labor would have run around 350, so i opted to install it myself. Wasn't that bad, and turned out good.

Upholstery,,,,, it can get expensive.

A few years ago, I had mine done and it cost $4000 and that's with me doing all the side panels. I rebuilt all the wood frames myself and all the old foam was used exept for the rear bench.

Most guys refuse to use the old stuff nowadays, so you may be looking for in the $5-7K range for a complete job.

UGH! Upholstery!
I'd rather do an engine than upholstery My sundeck (Engine Hatch) cost me $400.00, and I supplied the new wood. If you are having the interior redone in the original style, make sure you take a bunch of pictures, including detail shots. The guy I used (who was recommended), upholstered my deck differently from what I had. All I told him to do was copy what was there, and he said no problem. When I went to pick it up, it was wrong. Then he argued with me saying that was what I had. Good thing I had pictures, that shut him up! Well, three attempts later, he finally got it somewhat right. There's more, but too much to post here. Just be careful who you use, and get ready to spend, spend, spend $$$$$!

So how did you do the carpet?
did you use an adhesive?
How does the old stuff come up, do you have to like sand off old glue or something like that?
How did you lay the new stuff?

maybe there should be a resto board on this site
Thanks

In the middle of the re-upholstering, carpeting right now.

It cost me $50 for the sun pad to be recovered.
For the whole back seat and kick panel below it was $250. That is all the red and white interior. The front bolsters will be at the end of this month to match the rear seat and sun pad. Probably $125-$150 each

All of my interior was red with black piping. my sunpad was red and real hot!

My carpet arrived last night. $135

I put carpet in my 24' Villain myself. I went to local carpet warehouse and got decent, gray, outdoor carpet. To hold it in place I used 2 rolls of double sided tape plus thru bolted anything I could to it (seats, little lights under side storage, pushed edges up under side storage, etc.)

Here's a link to some pics - http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/wagnerboats/my_photos

Sift thru the album and there are some shots of the carpet.
