Default Question for everyone

I am looking at ways to grow my business. I have an idea that I beleive makes sense, but I need some input friends..

1. How many of you are in the market for a new boat trailer?
2. What brand?
3. Have you contacted a trailer dealer regarding the purchase of a trailer?
4. How many would buy one if they could get a KILLER deal on a new trailer, but will just hang on to their current trailer for a while?

Thanks in advance everyone!!

I think the problem with trailer sales is that only a select group use them often enough to justify the price of a nice one. I have a Myco aluminum for the Gun with all the stuff on it and I've used it MAYBE 5 times since new.... 3+ years ago. I wouldn't even have a trailer if it wasn't included in the price of the boat. They are a pain in the ass to store when they aren't under your boat, and MOST paople can borrow one for the few times they need it (straight bottoms). This is why the trailer gets barely any value when people are shopping for used boats that have a trailer available (aside from hydraulic trailers, etc).

You'd have to really be selling them at smokin prices to get alot of action I would think, but where's your margin when that's the case?

eat me, gentlemen. (you know who you are)

I'm not really talking about Myco trailers. Basically, if you were gonna buy a trailer right now, who would call? where would you look?

1. Not yet, but maybe later.
2. Doesn't matter - A reasonably nice quality brand at a reasonable price shall do nicely. Must be aluminum.
3. No.
4. Define Killer, then see #1.

I am thinking about replacing my trailer for my TG.

If I do I would call myco. I don't use my trailer a lot but when I do a don't want problems. Right now my trailer that came with the boat last year has done the following...blown 2 tires while being towed to me when I bought it ( i replaced all 6 with quality trailer tires)

Now the brakes have quit working (understand that it didn't come with brakes to begin with and were added later) and when the boat was water tested a few weeks ago the rubber bow stop flew off when they loaded it. When coming up a steep ramp the middle and rear tire rub together until on a flatter slope.

All this on a 2 year old trailer. POS. will make a nice yard trailer but worthless for any real towing.

I also had a 2 Mannings in the past and had no problems with them.

What I want is aluminum, drive guards, electric over hydraulic, good support, not just 2 bunks and some rollers. Maybe a tool box an a place for at least 1 spare.

My myco under my pantera fit like a glove and towed and stopped nice.

Killer meaning you couldn't find the same (or like quality) trailer at a better price. Period. Maybe 1% of the time someone would have a leftover, etc, but for the most part, no way.

My marina is a dealer for 3 or 4 manufacturers of nice trailers. One of them is a price leader, but still a nice value in a trailer. I think I can sell new trailers very cheap. Cheaper than anyone, in fact.

The catch is

1. All of them are ordered but can be completed in 2-4 weeks.
2. Tight terms. 50% deposit, 50% upon delivery. Severe cancellation charges.
