Default Charging 24 volt system off 12 volts

I want to install an inverter in my boat .My friend has one that use 24 volts .How can I use the 12 volt alt to recharge the batteries that run it.Thanks for the help

Theoretically, you can't. You can make or buy a step up transformer that will will convert 12 to 24 but it will cut the amperage in half.
