Default Tar on Non-skid

I don't even want to talk about how this happened but I have quite a few tar spots on my swim platform non-skid. Tar like from the asphalt in a parking lot. I was wondering what I can use to get it off? Is it possible to use bug/tar remover on fiberglass non-skid or will it hurt it?? I briefly tried some soft scrub and some purple power. They worked with mild but not great results. If anyone has a magic solution please let me know. I am a little unhappy to say the least. Thanks!!!

Acetone will work on fiberglass.

Mineral Spirits works well for tar and doesn't evaporate as fast as acetone.

Thanks for the replies. I have a bottle of Acetone so I guess I will start with that. I have used it to remove wax so I know it doesn't harm my fiberglass. Thanks again for the replies!!!

All done and the non skid looks as good as new. A little acetone and a lot of elbow grease worked wonders. Thanks for all the replies!!!
