I had my alarm beeping at me when I was testing a prop this weekend. I was reaching my rev limit, and I thought that was what it was, but I talked to my boat mechanic and he said that the alarm only goes off for temp. or low drive oil, not rev limits. I know I was running right about 5100-5150 r's, and I just assumed that the beeping was the rev warning before the limiter actually made the motor cut out. ( it actually never cut out, so I must not have quite reached 5150). My oil pressure, and temp were fine. I was wondering what else the beep was telling me? Any suggestions? This is on a 350 Mag Mpi, 2002 about.

If you were showing near 5100 then you were at the rev limit. The tachh is usually a little behind the module in revolution counting.

My Livorsi gauges don't beep at the rev limiter, but I have a friend with Faria guages that do beep when he hits the rev limiter. Not sure it has anything to do with the guages but it just depends on how yours is set up.
His old boat did the same thing.
