I've heard some conflicting recommendations about caring for Imron. The Imron on my boat appears to be very resilient to just about everything thrown at it over the years, but there are a few light stains, mostly from being under some Oak trees.
Can Imron be polished like gel or like automotive paint? Can some mild detergent, like "Softscrub" be used on it to remove stains? What about waxing to further protect it?

Imron is better to be compounded, waxed, or polished like automotive paint. Fiberglass gel coat compounds are to course for Imron and can leave scratches. To remove the stains try some polish or wax with a light abrasive in it. If this does not work you can try some automotive compounds and then polish or wax afterwards to remove the light scratches from the compound. *** If your Imron is metalic without any clearcoar cutting it to much with compounds will cause a difference in the metallic if you go very deep at all into the paint. Also, do not cut through clear coats.
