big tire/wheel upgrade for dually
#1
I am thinking about putting some semi type wheels on my 02 Ford F-350. Have any of you guys had any negative experience with this or any maintenance issues that were caused by the upgrade ie. suspension problems, etc?
How much would some 22.5" alcoas lift the truck? It is a 4x4 does that affect any of this as well?
I hardly ever use the 4 wheel drive but do not want to affect the ability to do so. I know that semi type tires are less aggressive tread and ride a little stiffer but I dont think that will be an issue for the little time that I use the 4 wheel drive.
Where is the best place to buy some wheels and the adapters for the 8 to 10 lug conversion?
any and all help would be great.
Thanks guys.

Could not find anything larger than 19.5 here. I would like to go up to 22.5 so that it fills the wheelwell a little more, any ideas?
I saw one of these trucking shows on speed channel, and they had 22.5 that looked awesome, so I know it will work.
looks like it will cost about 4k by the time i am done.
any other ideas?

When it comes time for a new truck, trade the F-350 in for a F-450 or F-550 and you'll get 19.5" wheels from the factory.
Along with the larger wheels come larger brakes, larger axles, etc. Just an idea. I loved mine, but I had to sell it because I needed something a little bigger to legally tow the boat.
