My current hitch reciever has a dip of maybe 2" to lower ball closer to ground.

The new boat now sags in front, not level.

Question: can I flip the reciever upside down and have the dip go up 2" or do I need a new one. Hope this makes sense, hard to explain.

yes you can flip the hitch up or down, have to do it on my rig as well.

Yes, they can be used to raise or lower your trailer tongue.

Most ball mounts are designed to be used in the "up" or "down" position. There are some, however, that are NOT designed to be used in both directions. Typically, if they are only designed to be used in one direction, there will be some sort of sticker or stamping letting you know. If you are still not sure...contact the manufacturer.

Most 2" drop ball mounts will give you a 1" raise when flipped over. All that I have seen are made to work either way.

flipping it might raise it too much... i had the same problem and a straight one with no drop or raise got it just right...

flip it and check the height, knee high with the trailer should be fine, I have an 8 inch one on my dually flipped upwards as I lowered the truck 8 inchs.

I was told you can only flip it for the same rating if its solid steel not welded My 3" weighs about 20 pounds.
