Ok guys, chime in. What are your thoughts of an 04 30 OL with twin 6.2's. No hyd steering cause it's not std. Any idea on speed? Will resale be an issue? Thanks in advance.

Sean H: Thanks for the reply. Man, not sure of 70 with only 640hp. You're right, I think MOST of the 30's will have Mags and HO's. Does that sound right? Mags and Ho's. hehehe

Thanks guys. That's what I thought. Resale would be a big issue as well as feeling under powered after the 20th hour.

I can't say for th 30OL but i can speak for the 29OL w/6.2s. We have 02 29 with 6.2s I have had the props cut a 1/4 in diameter, cup reduced, balanced and slightly thinned. They are not sharp (kids) and the boat will run 68 with 2 people light on fuel on its best day.
It gets right on plan without any problems. Better now with the prop work. Fully loaded with fuel and 4 -6 adults and all their sh!t it will run anywhere from 62-64 in the hot Texas summer and still get right up without any problems or tabs.
Last 4th of July there were some people wanting a ride to party cove from C&C. We had 14 people fully fueled and lots of coolers. I did not think we would get on plan. It didn't have any problem. Didn't even use tabs. Those of you that don't know that is a about a 30 second run cause party cove is right across the lake from C&C. But is suppressed me. It was the quickest $60 I have ever made. Hey they offered!
I do believe the resale will hurt us. When we bought the boat it was between this one, which has custom paint and another one with HO's. Do you know which one I wanted! Well the wife got her way.
Still love the boat just always thinking about going faster. Never missed out on anything do to the speed. Wife always rags when we go that fast anyway. I do miss the rumble of my 454 mag compared to the small blocks.
We hit LOT every year for a few days and a full tank of fuel will last us almost the entire 3 days depending on my speeds. I gpsed our entire trip one time forgot how many miles but it surprised the hell out of me.
Please take it easy on me. I always see posts like this and do not comment. I understand an apperciate everyones opinions on BB boats. I'm with you mentally.
I just wanted to add. I do not regret buying a boat with 6.2's. Regardless if it is a single, 6.2's of BB's in a boat, if that is what it takes to get you on the lake, why not. It has not changed all the fun and memories we have had with this boat.
