Hey guys,
I'm just finally getting around to putting on a silent choice set up I bought last summer. My boat is a 1988 26 Nova Spyder with a GM Performance 502 (was 330HP Merc. originally) still using all the original merc. exhaust parts, etc. The boat came with thru hull only. The kit I picked up came from a newer boat (I believe a 2000 or 1999). Here's the problem- I got the Y-pipe bolted in today, but when I go to hook up the steering ram, it seems to interfere with the Y-pipe. Before there was no problem (because I had no Y-pipe) I've talked to the local Merc. dealer, and they've assured me that the y-pipe is the same from a 1988 bravo to a new one and that the steering set up on my boat would have had all the same parts whether the boat came with or without a Y-pipe. Any ideas on this one?? I need to get back in the water fast!
Thanks-John
