engine builers please comment on my "dyno tuning" thanks in advance for your input. ratman

rman , it's a big holiday weekend , don't think many people will be on OSO. imho i watched your vid. don't really think your getting real dyno tuning . i have been around quite a few dyno sessions at presicion and mark is on engine for hours to get tuning and optimal power on whatever is on the dyno.

the flame arrestor should be on your engine when dynoing ,first thing i noticed , never see him hitting anything with a hammer the engine needs to be heated up to operating temp , i did not see anyone in that vid with a hand held temp sensor checking differnt areas of engine while dynoing either. didn't sound like they were adding any load to simulate on planning attitude.

man at engine looks a little "phased". not downing anyone just what i see. i think for the parts you have you should be making alot more power , i not a engine builder , just a honest reponse.

money wise , i don't know what to tell ya. but i know most charge some type of flat fee for so many hours and in return you receive soo many hours of tuning /dynoing. 1 or 2 strong pulls ain't gonna get it. i've watched mark bring engines to sustained levels of high rpms for long durations , not just a few short bursts. i would ttt this on tuesday , i'm sure you will get more educated responses , right now most are dynoing there livers

Here's my dyno shop, they'll run the smaller n/a engines for us before they go in. I leave the blower mils to the big boys who know what they're doing.

Big difference from a shack dyno room. Don't mean to slam your guy but I wouldn't waste your time with backwoods engineering. We typically run a motor for 45mins to break in then start tuning in earnest.
