Shots taken from the end of the pier at Sinbad's looking into the Roostertail turn at the north end of the course, Belle Isle and Detroit Yacht Club in the background. Weather sucked and almost no spectators out today.

The small crowd hurts and may kill that site as did St Clair..
The owners killed themselves by crapping on Hydro Prop..

My Dad told Me that Jimmy King is driving the piston boat ,Jimmy's father Bob called the old Man a few weeks ago, so it should be true.I would have went, but the old Man is out of town and I had too much to do as usual.

That red piston powered boat (Jeep) was runnin hard, cornering on the inside and out in front of the turbines all day, until it went vertical in front of the Belle Isle Bridge
I take it he was OK, As he rode on the upside down boat as they towed it in.

Late news is there was an incident in the final and reports indicate caused by Oh Boy, Oberto not holding lane, subsequently DQ'd. Winner on restart was U-13 Miss Al Deeby Dodge, formerly known as the Miss Circus Circus, the Winston Eagle, and most recently Smokin' Joe's.
