Default Removing Bravo III prop ...

My Brother just called and he chipped a blade on his Bravo III prop. To remove the Prop (props) is there still just the one nut to remove?

NO ...

Each prop has it's own nut. The nut for the rear prop is of course visible. The front prop's nut is under the rear prop's. on its own (inner) shaft.

Incidentally, it is HUGE ! Merc actually has a 'special' tool that you can buy and have whenever you need to remove the props. You will no doubt need to get this .

BTW , don't loose the thrust washer for the rear prop ... it frequently 'sticks' in it's seat in the prop .. then when you place the prop down somewhere it will fall out when you're not looking

Two...
Inner one "should" use a funky socket so it can be torqued.. The incredible 56 buck socket does it properly.... A pipe wrench doesnt

Yes, that prop nut is HUGE! Same as I had on my blackhawk. Good advise on the thrust washer too. Been there done that!!! I think I picked my socket up for around $25-$30 but I can't remember for sure.
