There is a 1990 boat advertising a 454 omc king cobra with rated hp of 385, is this the correct hp for that engine? It has a pic of the motor and it is a carb.


Any good or bad with this engine setup?

The standard 454 had 330HP the HO 454 came with 360HP. One sign is the HO came with a Holley Carb part # 8010. The other difference was the 330HP had 8.2 to 1 compression the HO had 8.7 to 1, hope this helps.

I had a 90 Liberator and according to all the numbers it was a HO, had the correct carb on it too.... It was purchased from the original owner, whom I still see every once and a while at the lake. According to him minus a valve job that motor was original????
