Power steering hose Question
#1
I have a 87 Baja 240. I am trying to install a new 99 up steering ram. The hose ends are different. The old ones have flair ends and the new ram takes the o-ring type. Is there a easy way out with out buying all new hoses? I'm selling the boat so I would like to keep the cost down.
Thanks

A really good hydraulice supply shop might be able to sell you an adapter. Try searching on-line or your yellow pages. Local would be my first choice.

I went to autozone and bought a hose with the correct end that had enough of the metal tube to use a compression fitting. Cut each end off and add the new end to your existing hose. It saved me almost $100 over a new mercruiser part.

If you can't find anything locally you can try Mcgill's Radiator in AZ. I searched for days trying to find a shop that would custom make hoses for me. Sent them some pics and had the hose shipped to PA in 3 days, reasonable prices too
