Default Simple quick question

Doing an oil change and the oil filter is mounted horizontally.
Do you just mount the filter empty?

I used to have the filter mounted vertically, so I'd just fill the filter w/ oil, then screw in.

Default Re: Simple quick question

i have a horizontal mounted filter on my 2500 burban.......i fill the filter up all the way to the top as quick as i can......it takes about a bit over 1/4 of a quart......then i let it all soak up into the filter and i rotate the filter around to let it soak up some more.....this way theres something in the filter and not totaly dry.....yet its not full enough to spill on me when i'm installing it on the truck
