Default emergency engine hatch access?

The batteries on my 1999 342 Boss are dead and the engine hatch is closed. Anyone know if there is an emergency access hatch so I can get at the batteries to charge?
Thanks!

I'm not sure on your boat. Some are made where you can lift the hatch manually far enought to pull a pin to disconect the hatch, others have a set of leads to the battery under the rear seat. Seems my buddy had the leads in his Baja.

Do you have a cigarette lighter socket on board? Get an adapter of some sorts and cut the opposite end off, plug the good end into the cigarette lighter and the wires to the appropriate side of a jumper boost back, extra battery or a battery charger. Then raise the hatch.

Now think of a plan if the lift were to go bad.

Pull the hinge pins and lift it manually from behind, then squeeze in and pull the pin on the acuator. (assuming you have access to the hinge pins)

On my Powerquest I can lift the hatch manually if the battery is disconnected. I figured that out while removing the batteries for winter storgae. Just get your hands under the hatch, and lift.
