need procedure to bleed a steering system for a I.T.S. setup
#1
Does anyone know the steps to bleed this system properly as mine is brand new and there is no fluid in it all the way to the helm. It is a single engine setup. I will be starting the engine for the first time this weekend and will need to bleed the system so I can take it out for the first time.

On the back connection block for the ITS are 2 "bleeder" fittings. Tie strap some small tygon hose to both of them and run the hoses up into the top of the reservoir. Open the fittings a half a turn or so. Fill the reservoir. Don't start the engine! Turn the wheel to the right, watching the oil level in the reservoir and adding some if necessary. Keep turning to the right until pretty solid oil is coming out one of the hoses from the bleeder fittings. Now repeat turning the wheel to the left. You can then turn it back and forth until you are pretty satisfied little air is left in the lines. Top off the reservoir, start the engine, "don't" turn the wheel just yet. Watch the reservoir level and top off. Now you can turn the wheel back and forth to get a little more air out of the lines through the bleeder fittings. Tighten the fittings and remove the hoses. Done and solid!
