Procharger on 502 question
#1
I haven't dealt with prochargers or whipples. What is the general opinion of using these superchargers on 502's? I'm interested in a 98 Formula 353 with procharged 502's and Imco drives.

easy way to make some good power with out having to spend BIG money.
be careful on the install, for i have seen many a $#@% ups , and the end result is not so good. it's costly.
good luck

If your looking at a used boat with prochargers bring someone with you who knows how these are supposed to be set up. Fuel delivery is very important. Supercharged boats are set up for 1 reason, to go fast. This usually means they are run hard. Find out how many hrs. are on the motor, do a compression check and leak down. If you don't do all this you are taking a huge risk!! P.S. DO NOT trust the seller to give you honest answes!!!!!

Procharger on a stock 502HP is a great set-up. Procharger is a great product but their tech support is terrible. Installation instruction is a joke. But once you throw the book away and figure it out yourself, it will run like Jack Bear.

Find out if the fuel system is based on stock injectors with a boost referenced pressure regulator that greatly increases fuel pressure. That is how the kits come from Procharger. The better way is to install larger injectors and reprogram the ECU. If that has been done, find out who reprogrammed the ECU and how (through the mail or on a dyno).
IMHO reprogrammed fuel and spark is the only way to go for power and reliability. Good luck.
