Trip To Bahamas
#4
Board members, MRPicket, Radical Concept, and myself ran our boats over again this year. West Palm to Marsh Harbor, then day trips all over the Abacos. Always a great trip. Sailfish Marina can help with trailer storage, and as a departure point. Customs coming back is a pain in the A$$.

Freeport, Grand Bahama is my favorite. About 90 miles from Port Everglades. Port Lucaya has a great marina within walking distance to casinos, shopping and good food. From West Palm Beach it's about 50 miles to West End.
Crossing the Gulfstream can be quite an adventure when the wind is out of the North, so be selective about your days.

Best to with a group-and include someone who's taken trip a few times. At least one boat should have radar for weather watch. GPS ans current cxharts essentials.
Fuel is insane price--friend just got back--spent $2500 on fuel in one week. $5-$6 pergallon and it can be contaminated. You'll need spare filters and strainer. Water is another issue--take bottled.
The weather canchange in the stream quickly so you really have to have local knowledge.
Most people here got from Ft. Pierce--after January you'' need passport and customs is a pain
Still a great trip--every boater should take it and learn the ropes. Another great trip is the Ft Pierce to Ft Meyers across Lake Okeechobee and then on to Dry Tortugas.
