weeping Sea pump ...

noticed today starboard sea pump seems to be weeping water ..... just a small amount but there is a line in the bilge were its been slinging ... pic shows that it seem to be coming from the front of the pump ...is there a seal or bearing ? .......m

As Smitty says, most likely the bearings are shot.

Took it all apart today .... retail for the pump is 415.00 ... I think Marc (Bam) has em for about 350.00 ..... I got all the bearings and seals for 23 bucks ... gona try it .... the shaft does have slight groove between two of the seals ....mike

Mike i'm having the same problem with my pump too. Do you still know what the part numbers are for the bearings and seals? From looking at the drawing of the pump on Bam's website, it looks like there are a total of 3 seals in the pump. Is that correct?

i haven been able to get the seals anywhere other than mercury .they are stainless .it appears the 1s you have by cr are not ive tried that they wont last long .dont worry about the groove in the shaft .just push the seal in a little more to not ride on that spot .
