I have a 85 hour 500 EFI I want to get more power from, I have done a lot of reading and it seems the threads are started but always end up turning a different direction before they finish addressing the issue. I have looked into several methods of gaining power but it seems centrifigul superchargers end up getting the nod. So there are several companies out there that have a kit , Vortec, Procharger , R-tech just to name a few. Who has the most complete user friendly turn key Kit? I am at a loss here and would really rather build pwer N/A but it seems the efi is limiting my choices, so if you have a good recipe for 600 -650 HP NA on a 500 EFI let me know otherwise...........
who has the best kit as asked above.

Actually I don't know that, but I keep hearing they are way backed up.

Whipple has apparently had a hard time delivering product.
I vote for a Whipple with a F.A.S.T. computer, running closed loop!!
Open loop sugs! I have a hard time believing that Merc even does that...
PM FTMBob for more details...
Here's his motor.. I love that motor! You even program it from a laptop while on the water for perfect everything, and it stays there with varying conditions!!
IMO, this is THE setup for a blower!!!

Contact Fred Cecil AKA "Too Old" at Trick Marine.
He is a dealer for Vortech and has some good information and good prices.
Personally I am leaning toward Vortech because of two boats that I know are running them with VERY good results.
Another thing is their kit is 100% COMPLETE!
Call Fred.

We have had very good results using the vortech system, I wouldnt touch a procharger. 600-650 HP could be attained with very little boost. We have several boats running this setup making 700-950 HP with the vortech charger. All the setups have had no issues and truely been flawless. We are very impressed with the setup.
