FT. Lauderdale Boat show---check in please....
Show Management has postponed the show until next Thursday, 11/3. Are you going or staying home? I am wondering---even if the show is on, there are still alot of hotels without food, water and electricity. The area there is a mess, according to someone who lives there that I just spoke to.
The show will have to run completely on generators. I don't know if that's possible. Seems like even if the show is on, it will be mediocre at best. What are your thoughts? The more I think about it, I will most likely stay home

I was all set to be down there this weekend from months ago, but with all the uncertainty I'm going to pass, I think I'll shoot for the Miami Show in Feb. This is a shame for all involved, especially all the residents of So FL.

I'm only 3 hours away, and I gave up on the idea. The hotel where I was going to stay is trashed, and my friends down there said don't even think about it. I would be concerned about finding gas to get home.

Staying home....those people have more important things to do right now than have the added burden of out of towners down there to be entertained.

Show Management just called and gave us our move in time of Sunday at 11:00 am. I am really torn about this. We depend alot on this show and I'd hate to miss it on the off chance somebody might actually show up and buy something. However there is a time and place for everyhting. With what's happened I don't think it's a good idea to continue but if it's open and it looks like it will be, I'll be there.
Question is, will anyone else?

I can't believer they are still trying to have the show this early. The crowd turn out is going to be next to nothing. Where are people going to stay and eat and what not. I'm not understanding why they are trying to get it going so soon. They really need to let the city get back on its feet so it can "host" a bunch of guests.
